James Bond has graced our bookshelves and screens for over fifty years. The martini-drinking, super-smooth character has become an icon and national treasure. Like most of the many million James Bond fans around the world, John Pearson assumed that the world's most famous spy was no more than a figment of Fleming's highly charged imagination. Then he began to have his doubts. He finally became convinced that James Bond was not only real but alive and well in Bermuda. With candour, Bond began to recount the story of his life to Pearson, revealing the most amazing series of adventures only hinted at in Ian Fleming's novels. This sensational biography promises to show a side of Bond never seen before.

One of the very best continuation novel .
ReplyDeleteWas gripped by each pages when - painfully - deciphering it in summer 1975 .
Probably the only LEGITIMATE adjunct to Fleming. Awesome, and I so regret that they weren't using THIS as the basis for Bond's backstory in SKYFALL instead of all this painful ludicrous crap.
ReplyDeleteIf they were going to reboot Bond, THIS should have been the reference along with Fleming. As is, 21st century Bond is just about somebody with the same name, nothing more.
Well said, Kevin.
DeleteBut I guess it's easier just to keep pumping it up. The whole movie franchise is nasty for book lovers and since there's no blockbuster potential in going back to the original Bond, all we have to look forward to is more hollow action hero hijinks.
Great cover!
ReplyDeleteBTW, what did you think of Skyfall? I'd be curious of your take on it. I was less shaken and stirred than i expected to be - check out my review over on theblogofdelights.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI'm in the U.S. so I still haven't seen it! Thursday. Can't wait.
