THRILLING CITIES and THE DIAMOND SMUGGLERS released
Ian Fleming's two non-Bond books Thrilling Cities and The Diamond Smugglers have been re-released in the U.S. and UK. Vintage has released the books in the UK with cover that matches their recent Vintage Classics editions. In the U.S. Amazon has followed suit with covers that match their new Ian Fleming paperbacks.

I think I have figured out what makes an effective Bond paperback cover for me. Effort. If you can see some thought, time, creativity and effort have been out in, no matter how irrelevant the design, it gets a thumbs up from me. So these are pretty effective. Especially the US Cities cover.
ReplyDeleteNow compare these to Vintage's Dr.No...which seemingly was ripped out of the printer before it had finished creating it.
