Today sees the release of Vaseem Khan's Quantum of Menace, the first novel in IFP's new "Q Mysteries" spin-off series.
Filled with wit and verve, Vaseem Khan brings his vibrant and dynamic style to this spin-off cosy crime series set in the world of James Bond. Charming, drily humorous, and intelligently crafted, Quantum of Menace, the first in the Q mystery books, will appeal to Bond fans, readers of Murder Before Evensong, The Thursday Murder Club and Slow Horses novels, and those who are looking for a new take on clever crime fiction.
IFP is going all out on this book with Waterstones and Goldsboro Special Editions and signings. Personally, I will be sitting this series out as I've had my fill of spin-offs. But I'm sure it's a well-written and entertaining book, and I wish everyone the best of luck.
Purchase Quantum of Menace at Amazon.co.uk, and watch for the next book, The Man With The Golden Compass, in October 2026.

Q is not an Ian Fleming character. Boothroyd was the armourer, which has nothing to do with Q branch, and only appeared in one novel. In the novels, Q branch is only mentioned, never visited and there's never any mention of any person being addressed by the code Q. So, what's this novel based on? Clearly, it's not derived from Fleming writings
