No plans for U.S. print edition of SHOOT TO KILL

Here's some disappointing news for Bond fans who have been holding out for a U.S. edition of Steve Cole's first Young Bond novel, Shoot To Kill. A reader named Derrick contacted Cole's literary agent, Curtis Brown, who had this to say:

"There are no plans at the moment to publish SHOOT TO KILL in the US, so a British copy would be your best way forwards."

This is not to say there will never be a U.S. print edition, but at the moment there appears to be no U.S. publisher on board.

The good news is the UK edition can be purchased on Amazon.co.uk at a 46% discount. Even with shipping, the end price isn't all that different from what a U.S. edition would cost. Also, The Book Depository currently has the UK edition for $16.29 with free worldwide shipping. You can also find new and used copies via the U. S. Amazon Marketplace.

Thanks to Derrick for bringing us this news.

First look at SPECTRE reveals a snowbound Bond

The official James Bond website and Eon Productions have today released the first still and behind the scenes footage from SPECTRE. Love a snowbound Bond!

Looking at this image I can't help but think of the great snowbound Bond novels of Ian Fleming (On Her Majesty's Service Service), John Gardner (Icebreaker), and Raymond Benson (High Time To Kill).

SPECTRE will be released on November 6th, 2015.

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG 50th anniversary editions

Ian Fleming's other famous creation, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, has received the 50th Anniversary treatment from the Queen Anne Press. A beautiful facsimile of the first edition has been released as three separate adventures, just as it was in 1964 when first published by Jonathan Cape. The three volumes are presented in a racing green slipcase in a limited edition of 100.

The original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was illustrated by renowned artist John Burningham as only his second commission. The artist has re-worked some of his original artwork for this anniversary edition.

The Queen Anne Press is also offering a deluxe edition (shown above) limited to 50 sets which comes with two prints signed and numbered by John Burningham.

For more information visit the Queen Anne Press website.
