IAN FLEMING PUBLICATIONS announce 2025 releases

Ian Fleming Publications has revealed its upcoming releases for 2025 on its website. Among new eBooks and audiobooks will be Talk of the Devil, a collection of Ian Fleming's writing that has only been available as part of an expensive set. The book will be published on April 22 in the UK by Ian Fleming Publications and in the U.S. by HarperCollins.

FOREVER AND A DAY U.S. audio book cover

Now that we've confirmed the U.S. cover art for Anthony Horowitz's Forever and a Day, here's the audiobook. As usual, some are grossing about how this is vastly inferior to the UK art, but I really like it. I think it's the best U.S. cover we've had in some time.

You can pre-order the U.S. edition of Forever and a Day at Amazon.com. Release date is November 6, 2018. But if you can't wait, know the UK edition is out on Thursday.

Matthew Goode will read FOREVER AND A DAY audiobook

Ian Fleming Publications have announced that British actor Matthew Goode will narrate the Forever and a Day audiobook. The audiobook will be relased concurrently with the UK hardcover on May 31 (this according to the IFP site, but Amazon shows a June 7 release).

David Oyelowo will read TRIGGER MORTIS

Acclaimed British actor David Oyelowo will read the Trigger Mortis audiobook. Oyelowo has played Henry VI for the Royal Shakespeare Company and recently portrayed Martin Luther King, Jr. in Selma.

Oyelowo follows in the footsteps of other actors who have narrated 007 novels, including Kenneth Branagh, Hugh Bonneville, Tom Hiddleston and Rosamund Pike.

The media is making much of the idea that Oyelowo is "the first black actor to play James Bond." This is not correct. Hugh Quarshie voiced Bond in the Dr No audiobook, and Paterson Joseph read SOLO as part of BBC Radio 4's book of the week.

The audiobook version of Trigger Mortis will be released on September 8 along with the hardcover and ebook. It can be pre-ordered at Amazon.co.uk.

It's unclear if Oyelowo's reading will also be used on the U.S. audiobook.

Whole Story Audiobooks have released the first four Charlie Higson Young Bond novels in the UK with cover art using the new Young Bond logo. These are the unabridged readings by Nathaniel Parker. I could not find a listing Charlie Higson's last novel, By Royal Command.

JAMES BOND audiobook collection on CD

The Ian Fleming James Bond audiobooks are now available on CD from W. F. Howes in the UK. These are the new recordings with each book read by a different well-known celebrity. Each recording comes with a bonus interview with the celebrity narrator.

W. F. Howes is currently offering 30% when purchasing the entire collection. That offer is good through March 31, 2015.

The complete set of original Ian Fleming James Bond audiobooks -- which had been released in the UK by AudioGo -- are now available from Blackstone in North America as both CDs and digital downloads.

First official SOLO plot description

U.S. publisher HarperCollins has revealed the first official plot description of Solo, the new James Bond novel by William Boyd due for release in the UK on September 26 and the U.S. on October 8, 2013.

Cover art for the UK unabridged audiobook for Solo, the new James Bond novel by William Boyd, has been revealed on Amazon.co.uk. (For some reason these UK Solo images pick up extra grain and fog when I upload to my blog. View on Amazon for a better representation of this cover.)

As reported this week, the audiobook will be read by actor Dominic West, who at one time was actually in consideration to play James Bond #6.

Dominic West reads SOLO

Along with the revealing of the UK cover art, IFP and Vintage announced today that actor Dominic West will read the unabridged UK audiobook for Solo, the new James Bond novel by William Boyd due out next month.

"We are thrilled to have such a distinguished actor as Dominic West reading Solo,  says Richard Cable, Managing Director, Vintage Publishing. "It’s the perfect combination of reader and text. Audio listeners are in for a real treat!"

The 43-year-old West was actually one of the actors in serious contention to play James Bond #6 back in 2005. Here's a shot of him looking amazingly like Ian Fleming's James Bond.

CASINO ROYALE is also at an all-time high

Sure, Skyfall is tearing up the worldwide box office, but Ian Fleming's very first James Bond novel, Casino Royale, is also being celebrated with honors this Autumn.

Ian Fleming Publications reports that the 1953 novel has been selected as one of the twenty featured titles for World Book Night 2013. Held on 23rd April 2013, UNESCO’s International Day of the Book encourages people to read with 20,000 volunteer "Givers" across the UK and Ireland handing out half a million books directly to the hardest to reach potential readers.

World Book Night is now calling for members of the public to apply to be a Giver. Each Giver will receive 20 free copies of their chosen book to distribute. Applications will close on 23 January 2013, and successful applicants will be informed by mid-February 2013.

Also, the Casino Royale audiobook read by Dan Stevens has been shortlisted for Audiobook of the year in the 2012 Specsavers National Book Awards. The awards take place in London on December 4th.
