Dynamite has released two collected editions of their ongoing James Bond series of graphic novels: James Bond: Agent of Spectre by Christos Gage and Luca Casalanguida and James Bond: Himeros by Rodney Barnes and Antonio Fuso.

Dynamite announces FOR KING AND COUNTRY

Dynamite has announced a new series to tie-in with the 70th Anniversary this year. Cover and description below.

2023 marks the 70th Anniversary of Ian Fleming‘s internationally famous MI6 spy James Bond 007. And Dynamite vows to celebrate the milestone with a special 007 series: 007: For King and Country from writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Giorgio Spalletta. 

 This time around though, Bond is the hunted. Accused of a murder on British soil, M dispatches the other 00s to revoke Bond’s license permanently. Forced to go underground, he can only count on the presumed dead 003, Gwendolyn Gann, as his ally because — in reality — they are on a top secret mission to prevent a globe-shattering event. Will they be able to unravel a conspiracy before M’s best catch up with them and punch their tickets?

For King and Country will be released in April. 

Dynamite restores "OO7" in new series

After dropping "007" from the title of their last three series, Dynamite is bringing it back with a series in August called, yes, OO7. It will be written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson with art by Marco Finnegan. Below is the cover of issue #1 and a plot description.

The most famous spy in fiction returns to heat up the summer comics season with a thrilling tale of double agents, assassins, old flames, and heaps of intrigue. James Bond finds himself outplayed with a metaphorical bad hand on a Russian excursion, forced to eliminate an asset he was meant to extract. I always wondered if Dynamite dropping "007" from their James Bond series title was an attempt to synchronize with No Time To Die and the idea that Lashana Lynch's Nomi was now 007. I'm glad to see it come back.

Dynamite announces JAMES BOND HIMEROS

Dynamite has a new James Bond comic book series launching in October called James Bond: Himeros. The book is written by Rodney Barnes, drawn by Antonio Fuso, and colored by Adriano Augusto. Below is the cover of issue #1 and a plot description.

Billionaire British financier Richard Wilhelm finds himself behind bars, after being charged with trafficking minors to his secluded private island in the South Pacific. Now in custody, his political, personal, and criminal connections to others in high society across the world are in danger of being exposed. Dynamite reveals JAMES BOND: AGENT OF SPECTRE

Dynamite has revealed their next original James Bond series, James Bond: Agent of SPECTRE by Christos Gage. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series sees "Bond recruited into the terrorist organization by Ernst Stavro Blofeld to end an internal power struggle that could have apocalyptic consequences." The first book is due for release in March 2021.

It's a cool concept. Of course, for those of us who know the continuation novels know the idea of 007 being recruited by SPECTRE first played out in 1984's Role of Honor by John Gardner.

Dynamite releases REFLECTIONS OF DEATH

While Amazon still shows a September 29th release, Dynamite has tweeted that their latest original Bond graphic novel, Reflections of Death, is released today. Some alternate cover art has also appeared online, so it's a bit unclear what the final cover looks like. But I guess we'll find out soon!

James Bond ORIGIN Vol. 2 released (maybe)

The second volume of James Bond Origin may or may not be released today. Even in normal times Dynamite's release dates have been all over the place, and the Covid shutdowns have scramble those dates even more. But according to Amazon, the book has a July 14 release, so...

Even though Amazon shows a January 14 release date, my copy of Dynamite's Live and Let Die graphic novel arrived at my door today. I had passed on their Casino Royale (how many versions of that book do I need?), but I'm excited by the idea of the other Fleming novels receiving faithful comic adaptations. I'm especially looking forward to Moonraker, although that has yet to be announced.

Dynamite announces REFLECTIONS OF DEATH for 2020

Dynamite has announced a new original James Bond graphic novel for release early next year called Reflections of Death. Below is the cover art by Fay Dalton, which beautiful evokes the 1970s Bantam covers, and the official press release.

James Bond in "Reflections of Death" is a 128 page hardcover of nonstop thrills and intrigue. Several Dynamite Bond veterans return for this tapestry, including Benjamin Percy, Andy Diggle and Greg Pak and the writers of the December-launching new ongoing series, Vita Ayala & Danny Lore. Stars of both Dynamite and comics at large Gail Simone and Mark Russell join the team as well. Artists enlisted for the mission include Luca Casalanguida, Robert Carey, Jordi Perez, Dean Kotz, Eoin Marron and Kewber Baal. All wrapped up in another beautiful noir and pulp flavored cover by Fay Dalton. 

With a framing story Ayala and Lore, over 20 total creators will collaborate to contribute stories that both stand on their own and tie into an overarching narrative. The central figure through the anthology of case files is Moneypenny. She's been kidnapped. and the mystery of her captors and their demands will only be revealed when, or if, 007 is able to complete his missions. While Moneypenny herself may have some surprises up her sleeve.

Dynamite reveals next JAMES BOND series

Dynamite and Westfield Comics have revealed the writers and story details for the next series of James Bond comics (looks like they've dropped "007" from the title).

New series, new team, new missions! Vita Ayala (Morbius, Age Of X-Man), Danny LorE (Queen Of Bad Dreams) and Eric Gapstur (James Bond 007) present a fresh take on the world's greatest secret agent. When a priceless piece of art is found to be fake, investigations lead down a rabbit hole of international crime and corruption. But what the hell does James Bond know about the world of art forgery? Featuring a cover by superstar Jim Cheung (Justice League, Young Avengers), that will be revealed as an interlocking image over the first three issues!

Dynamite has released the collected hardcover edition of James Bond: The Body by Ales Kot with art by Luca Casalanguida.

As Bond undergoes a post-mission medical examination, he relays the story of his previous mission to the examiner. Each cut, bruise, and broken bone connected to a specific event of the mission. A connection is made between two people with different purposes: one to save lives, the other to take them.
