James Bond 007: VARGR collected hardcover released

A hardcover edition collecting all six issues of Dynamite's James Bond 007: VARGR comic is out now. The collection also includes all the variant cover art.

The six part VARGR was written by Warren Ellis with art by Jason Masters and Dom Reardon. The storyline finds Bond in action in Helsinki, Berlin and Norway.

Dynamite's second story arc, EIDOLON, begins today in James Bond #7. The story is again written by Warren Ellis with art by Jason Masters.

After World War Two, army intelligence groups created ghost cells called "stay-behinds" across Europe in the event of a Warsaw Pact surge. "EIDOLON" is the story of a SPECTRE stay-behind structure - ghost cells of SPECTRE loyalists acting as sleepers until the time is right for a SPECTRE reformation and resurgence. The time is now.

Latest on STRIKE LIGHTNING - a "chilly" location?

A few updates on Steve Cole's upcoming Young Bond Strike Lightning due for release on September 1st. Like Heads You Die, the book will be released as a signed limited hardcover with extra content and as a paperback.

No cover art or plot description yet, but Steve Cole recently tweeted a response to a fan who asked where he should read the book. Steve suggested: "somewhere chilly?"

Could this mean Strike Lightning might have a snowbound location?

Both John Gardner and Raymond Benson chose to send Bond into the snow for their third continuation novels, Icebreaker (1983) and High Time To Kill (1999).

Steve Cole's new Young Bond novel, Heads You Die, has been released as a Kindle eBook in the U.S. by IFP. It even has nice original cover art. So far Steve's Young Bond novels have only been released in print editions in the UK.
