Today marks the 60th anniversary of Ian Fleming's second James Bond novel, Live And Let Die, which was published April 5, 1954 by Jonathan Cape in the UK. Here's my own first edition hardcover. Still looking pretty good after 60 years!
Thanks to my good buddy Anders Frejdh of From Sweden With Love for the reminder of this milestone.
Looks like a very nice copy indeed!
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity, why is Colonel Sun in front of Octopussy and the Living Daylights?
Doh! How did that happen? Cat must have done it. ;)
DeleteCorrected.
It's a gaffe. Once a screenwriter, always a screenwriter. Wow, 60 years already. The first Bond book I read was my brother's dog-eared movie tie-in copy of LALD. At the tender and impressionable age of 13.
DeleteVery nice first edition there - I've always liked that one for its simplicity. It shares its birthday with 'Cubby' Broccoli too, of course!
