Thanks to Louisa Gibbs at Orion for the first look.
Once again you beat me to it John, go these a couple of hours ago and was just about to post!
ReplyDeleteHope you took a look at the website update this month...
Cheers
Simon
I just did. Thank you so much for the kind words, Simon. :) You know I'm a fan!
DeleteLooks great, really like these covers. Especially NSF, as it's my favourite Gardner :)
ReplyDeleteThat missile is at a rather phallic angle
ReplyDeleteI really like COLD. Not so much the Book which I think is Gardner's worst but the cover art.
ReplyDeleteSo since this is from Orion, I take it these are the US covers. So does that mean that this time around COLD will be published under that title in America for the first time?
ReplyDeletePegasus is the U.S. publisher, but they have been using the Orion cover art. However, so far they've made the UK/US adjustments to the titles -- spelling Licence and License, so I'd think it would be Cold Fall when it comes around. But we'll see.
DeleteWhat more important is that they use the more complete U.S. text as only in the U.S. edition is the book broken into the two parts, etc.
My UK paperback of Cold is broken into two parts. It's the one with the helicopters on the front. What's different about the US edition aside from the title?
DeleteHmmm...the UK paperback breaks into two parts, eh? The hardcover doesn't. At least I don't think it does. I'll have to have another look.
DeleteAre these the final versions, or are they 'draft' versions - because being picky about them...
ReplyDeleteThe central logo is a different size/place
The 'JAMES' is a different size
The author is also a different size!
The designs otherwise are great - I love the simplicity and similarity across the series, so these differences really look odd (to my eyes anyway)
nice! i like the look of this set.
