It smacked too much of trying to cash in on the cinematic re-boot. Furthermore, it was a lacklustre story, in my view.
I think IFP finally got it right with Horowitz. Looking forward to his next Bond tale.teeritzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05421337385763144173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2233203994322586500.post-37827011438755280392017-04-25T01:38:29.017-07:002017-04-25T01:38:29.017-07:00I wonder when he was offered this -- before or aft...I wonder when he was offered this -- before or after SOLO?

I enjoyed CARTE BLANCHE alright (though not as much as TRIGGER MORTIS or SOLO), and thought there was some good set-up for a larger contemporary reboot. (Not the parent stuff.) But what Deaver kept referring to as his "trademark twist endings" never seemed appropriate for 007. Lately, I’ve been tempted to revisit it to see if I’ve changed my view. It does seem to be a bit of an oddity in the Bond canon, though – it was clearly set-up for a larger story that we’ll probably never get.Matthttp://twitter.com/mattwestonaunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2233203994322586500.post-86106372880925309182017-04-24T17:35:36.967-07:002017-04-24T17:35:36.967-07:00Deaver did a good job using recognized Fleming ico...Deaver did a good job using recognized Fleming icons 007 lives in Chelsea, drives a Bentley, uses a Walther, all modern versions and a strong attempt at the Fleming sweepBill Lucashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14348173784528056487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2233203994322586500.post-76416214779711671192017-04-24T14:23:43.906-07:002017-04-24T14:23:43.906-07:00Cartel Blanche is my favorite of this recent run o...Cartel Blanche is my favorite of this recent run of Bonds.Neal Alhadeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16147323398127344799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2233203994322586500.post-87674184084809893572017-04-24T13:00:52.852-07:002017-04-24T13:00:52.852-07:00i like Carte blanche a lot, except for the plot of...i like Carte blanche a lot, except for the plot of Bond´s family death not being an accident.
and seems one more time we don´t see Bond in australia , maybe it´s a curse .
rsrsrsrsrsrssrAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2233203994322586500.post-88568355819011304772017-04-24T10:25:08.414-07:002017-04-24T10:25:08.414-07:00I didn't think he was right for it myself thou...I didn't think he was right for it myself though I did enjoy Carte Blanche.
