Later this year, @orionbooks will republish John Gardner’s second James Bond novel, For Special Services. The book features the reappearance of SPECTRE. That's just really... weird! I mean, it makes sense to re-jacket the Gardner books and keep them in print, but why start with the second one?
ReplyDeleteIt's less explicitly "of it's day" than LICENCE RENEWED (whose "bringing Bond into the 1980s" aspect doesn't really mean much anymore). Plus it's "The return of SPECTRE", which is a better "hook".
