You know I had never even dawned on me...as a huge Hammer and Bond fan, that Fleming's birthday continued the bizarre run of birthday links: Peter Cushing May 26th, Christopher Lee and Vincent Price May 27th and Fleming May 28th. I'm worrie it's taken me so long to spot that. I'm clearly bad with dates and patterns. Rain Main I am not.

Vol 3 looked like they'd used an 80+ Roger Moore as their photo model on the cover so this is an improvement. Although it may suggest to some silly people that James Bond is a woman. :)

Pegasus is the U.S. publisher, but they have been using the Orion cover art. However, so far they've made the UK/US adjustments to the titles -- spelling Licence and License, so I'd think it would be Cold Fall when it comes around. But we'll see.

What more important is that they use the more complete U.S. text as only in the U.S. edition is the book broken into the two parts, etc.

Are these the final versions, or are they 'draft' versions - because being picky about them...
The central logo is a different size/place
The 'JAMES' is a different size
The author is also a different size!

The designs otherwise are great - I love the simplicity and similarity across the series, so these differences really look odd (to my eyes anyway)

This is welcome news (Jones is a talent to watch) but didn't we have one last year (Age of Heroes)? And the one with Charles Dance (Golden Eye)? And the (fictional) one with Jason Connery (Spymaker)? And the BBC doc from 2006 (Bondmaker)? And the BBC Joanna Lumley doc from 2008? Does the world need another Fleming doc/biopic?

Can someone explain the Dr. No design? What is it meant to "be"? Ammo just being thick? Also isn't the book called "Doctor No" and it's the movie that's shortened to "Dr. No."?

I say again, use the Richard Chopping hardback covers; iconic, sold millions, hasn't dated... The work's already done for you, Vintage, get licensing for next time.
