CHRISTOPHER WOOD eBooks no longer available

Christopher Wood's two novelizations of the James Bond films The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker are no longer available as eBooks. The eBooks were released in 2013 and completed a full set of continuation eBooks. Now Amazon has no listing for either book. I'm not sure why this is. Maybe Drax and Jaws got 'em!

Thanks to @GhostAgentK on Twitter for the alert.

  1. That's too bad; I'm glad that I have physical copies of both. Wood's novelizations were far better than the films, very Fleming-esque. I've always wondered why he wasn't asked to write original Bond novels. I think he would have produced some excellent ones.

  4. Certainly his James Bond, The Spy Who Loved Me is a terrific combination off outlandish 70's film plot filtered through Ian Fleming's prose and pacing. It languishes in filling in back stories to Jaws, detailing Bonds thoughts and describing the tiny details the film never even looks at. There's a few changes (Sigmund - not Carl - Stromberg, his fate is different) but they're minor. James Bond and Moonraker is similar, a few name changes but many extra scenes with a meaty, colourful way of writing - far more than the story deserves! Spy, certainly, should have been labelled as the author (more appropriately than Sebastian Faulks was) "writing as Ian Fleming". I'd highly recommend any Fleming fans who have yet to bother with these to try Spy at least. From what snippets I've read of Benson's film novelisations, this is a lot more satisfying.
