SKYFALL trailer - You Only Live Twice?

The official SKYFALL trailer is released today. Is it just me, or does this movie look like a spiritual adaptation of Ian Fleming's You Only Live Twice (in the way Die Another Day was an adaption of Fleming's Moonraker)? Either way, this looks absolutely sensational! Enjoy.

You can watch the International trailer, which shows even more footage, at 007.com. But I think the U.S. trailer above is the better preview.

  1. I think "wow" just about covers it. Looks great!

  2. It is a sensational trailer. It also made me think of the Bourne Identity with a dash of Die Another Day. After 50 years it's impossible for a Bond movie not to resemble parts of others. I do think, based on this, that we've got a film that'll make us forget the disappointment of Quantum of Solace. The best bit of the trailer has to be Craig adjusting his cuff while half a train rips off behind him. Class. Can't wait!!

  3. Folks yet to see this should be warned it does spoil certain aspects of the film (pretty much tells you how the pre-title sequence begins and ends). Be warned. And all the Q stuff I'd rather was kept secret. It all looks awesome though.

  4. To me, sounds more lie a spiritual adaptation of The Man with the Golden Gun, without the "golden gun": Bond "returns from death" after his last assignment only to be re-programmed and sent to kill a deadly assassin known for the murder of several Bitish agents

  5. The death/reborn theme is a strong one in the JB canon, so yeah it does feel a bit YOLT which was my reaction upon seeing the Bond obituary and water "death" The International trailer is different enough from the US one to make the plot seems different. I wonder about the Silva/M connection and the vaguely Silence of the Lambs glass prison cell scene in the International trailer???
